Because of an update in Google Chrome, last couple of days Bangla Font problem arises in Chrome. Bangla Font cant be shown properly inside there. It was fine before last update. This is very annoying. Searching google gives the following solution that fix the problem.
First you need to download a Unicode Bangla font. SolaimanLipi is a good choice IMO. Download it from here
Install this font by double click on it and click install on font viewer window(I am using Fedora Linux, Windows user just copy and paste the font in control panel’s font directory.)
Then open Google Chrome and open setting from main menu. In bottom of settings page you will get Show Advance Settings link. Click on it and it will expand. Then in Web Content section click customize fonts. Now
1. Change the Standard Font (on drop down menu and choose your Bangla Font (SolaimanLipi or any other)
2. Change the Serif Font (on drop down menu and choose your Bangla Font (SolaimanLipi )
3. Change the Sans-serif Font (on drop down menu and choose your Bangla Font (SolaimanLipi )
4. Change the Fixed Width Font ( SolaimanLipi )
5. Don’t do anything Minimum font Size
.6.Change Encoding (on drop down menu and choose Unicode- UTF-8) Click ok
Turn Off Chrome and restart the Machine – That’s All Folks… Happy Bangla reading and writing in web 🙂
